Terms & Conditions

Two night stay on weekends is preferred year round, except July and August which require a three night minimum stay on weekends. Holiday weekends require a three night minimum stay. A two night minimum stay is preferred during weekdays, however a one-night stay is possible if availability exists. We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover. Please mention any gift certificates you may be using, when you make your reservation.

Confirmed reservations require a 50% deposit. The balance and tax is due upon check-in. Full advance payment is required for a one-night reservation. We must receive your deposit within 5 days of booking to secure your reservation. If the reservation is made within 7 days of check-in, the deposit must be secured in full by credit card and is non-refundable. If you are making a reservation as a gift for someone else, the reservation must be paid in full at the time of booking.

General Policies:
Breakfast is served each morning at 9:00 am. If there are any special diet considerations please let us know upon check-in.
Refreshments and snacks are served 4:30 pm each afternoon.
Check-in time is from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Arrangements must be made in advance in order to insure your entry if you plan to check-in later than 7:00 PM.
Check-out time is 11:00 AM. A later check-out time may be accommodated for an additional $70 charge.
We can accommodate a third guest in several of our rooms for $60 additional per night.
All room rates are subject to New Jersey sales and occupancy tax.
We are sorry, but we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 12.
Pets are not permitted.
NJ state law permits smoking only on the porches or garden areas.

Cancellations:
Cancellations must be made 21 days in advance of your scheduled arrival for a refund of your deposit minus a $60 processing fee per room reservation.
If the cancellation is made within 21 days of your scheduled arrival, one night (room charge plus tax) will be retained from your deposit (in addition to the $60 cancellation fee) if the reservation is not re-rented in full. If we are able to fill the vacancy caused by the cancellation, a refund for the full amount of your deposit (minus $60 processing fee) will be issued to you.
ALL deposit refunds will be issued in the form of a certificate. This certificate will be valid for a one-year period for you to use at your convenience.
You are also responsible for full payment of the reservation if departing prior to the scheduled departure date regardless of the reason (i.e. emergency, unsatisfied with room/condition, weather, etc).
Any cancellation received within 72 hours of your scheduled arrival time, or a no-show on your scheduled arrival date require the reservation to be paid in full and will not be refunded.

The only weather related cancellation that will NOT be charged is in the event of an evacuation order. Cancellations due to weather forecast warnings (i.e. severe thunderstorms, snowstorms, hurricane warnings, etc) are processed per our normal cancellation policy stated above.

Terms & Conditions

PLEASE NOTE: If the credit card used to hold the room is DECLINED or DECLINES at any time during our weekly process of credit card authorizations, the RESERVATION WILL NOT BE HELD AND WILL BE CANCELLED. It is your responsibility to ensure we have accurate credit card information to hold your room and secure your reservation..

 

Cancellations & Refunds:

Making a reservation at a bed and breakfast is not the same as making a reservation at a hotel.  Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly.  A last minute cancellation gives us little opportunity to re-book that room. For this reason:

Cancellations made 30 to 15 days prior to scheduled arrival date are subject to payment of 50% of the room charge plus $35 processing fee per reserved room. Cancellations made within 14 days or less prior to arrival date are subject to payment of the entire room charge (full amount of the stay) plus $35 processing fee per reserved room. Cancellations made 31 days or more prior to your scheduled arrival date, incur a $60 processing fee.

If we are able to fill the vacancy in full caused by the cancellation, a refund for the full amount of your deposit or cancellation fee you were charged (minus processing fee) will be issued to you. 

You are also responsible for full payment of the reservation if departing prior to the scheduled departure date regardless of the reason (i.e. illness, health concerns, emergency, unsatisfied with room/condition, weather, etc).

A "no-show" on your scheduled arrival date or guests who arrive on a later date than their scheduled arrival date require the reservation to be paid in full and will not be refunded.

We cannot accept responsibility of inclement weather, changes in travel plans, personal sickness or injury, family emergencies, etc. The only weather-related, or any cancellation in general that will NOT be charged is in the event of an evacuation order. Cancellations due to weather forecast warnings or inclement weather (i.e. severe thunderstorms, snowstorms, hurricane warnings, etc) are processed per our normal cancellation policy stated above.

Last-minute cancellations are usually due to a serious health issue, a death in the family, or some other family-related situations. While we understand that these things are outside a guest’s control, please understand that we cannot waive our policy for these unfortunate events and cannot accept the financial responsibility for your misfortune.  As always, we will make every effort possible to re-rent the room and extend you a credit or refund if we are successful.

 

Deposits:

We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover. Please mention any gift certificates you may be using, when you make your reservation.  Although we do have a credit card on file, the credit card is used to hold the room only at time of the reservation, and is not charged for your deposit unless the guest is present with the card. To ensure the room is held, a check or Zelle is preferred for your deposit in the amount of half the balance due to guarantee booking. If using Zelle, the email to use for deposits is Innkeeper@beauclaires.com. If sending a check, please make check payable to "23 Ocean LLC" and send your deposit to Beauclaire's Bed & Breakfast Inn, 23 Ocean Street, Cape May, NJ 08204. We will not cancel your reservation due to lack of a check deposit and will charge your card the balance due at check in, however we will do a weekly authorization check of the credit card on file, up until the week of check-in to ensure the card is still valid (if the card declines during one of the weekly card authorization checks, the reservation will be cancelled. Using Zelle or check deposits are the only ways to guarantee the reservation will not get cancelled due to a declined credit card) .  Full advance payment is required for a one-night reservation.  We ask for deposits to be sent within 5 days of room booking. If you are making a reservation as a gift for someone else, the reservation must be paid in full at the time of booking.

Buffet style tea breads, baked cookies, brownies and such will be replaced by pre-packaged snack alternatives for guests to enjoy as part of our afternoon tea. (Unfortunately, CDC guidelines still recommend non open/wrapped food to be served by lodging establishments, so we offer pre-packaged snacks)

During spring/summer seasons we also have cold drinks (ice tea, lemonade) available and in the fall/winter seasons we have warm cider, coffee, hot chocolate available in the Kurig
